DESCRIPTION:South Wake Conservationists\, one of our neighboring NCWF chapters\, is hosting Kids in NATURE Day. We’re excited to help spread the word about this engaging event that inspires children and families to explore and appreciate the natural world.\nKids in Nature Day is back for the fifth year in row! Fall is a great time for outdoor events\, and this event is free. All kids and families are welcome.\n\n\nDate: Sat.\, Oct. 10th (rain date Oct. 11th)\n\n\nTime: 1:00-4:00 PM\n\n\nPlace: Lake Benson Park\, Garner\, NC\n\n\nFREE\n\n\nConnecting kids with nature through fun\, interactive\, and hands-on activities\nAttended by hundreds of area children and parents the past four years\, Kids in Nature Day 2026 is back again by popular demand.  We will have a variety of live animal exhibits\, including the very popular birds-of-prey\, reptiles\, amphibians\, cool “bugs\,” aquatic life\, and more\, as well as over twenty different interactive and fun nature-oriented activity stations. \nOur whimsical musician will be onsite again for interactive musical fun\, and Ranger Rick will be all around the event greeting the kids and posing for photos.  There will be ice cream and other treats available onsite. \nWalk down the paths along the field\, through the woods\, and down by the lake to discover the many different activities with plenty of space to not feel crowded.  Earn cool prizes by getting your activity cards stamped. SUMMARY:Deer Processing Event
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, December 5th for a full-day hands-on deer-processing class organized in three locations (Apex\, Butner\, Lillington NC) simultaneously\, designed to teach you how to take your deer from field to freezer. Learn how to field dress\, skin\, and quarter then butcher meat into cuts your family would use. \nPlan to bring your own boning knife\, skinning knife\, cut resistant and disposable gloves\, hand wipes\, cutting board\, bagged lunch\, snack and drinks for the day. Bring a chair\, if desired.  A limited number of these items will be available to borrow if you are not able to bring them. \nWear closed-toed waterproof shoes or boots. Dress for the weather. This event will be held rain or shine. Know that deer processing can get messy. \nWe will provide legally harvested deer donated by hunters for student processing\, tables\, lined waste cans\, instructional materials\, packaging and grinding supplies.  We will also properly dispose of deer carcasses. \nFall Line Outdoors and site host Opportunity Outdoors are the non-profit organizations delivering this opportunity. All staff at these events are volunteers and are donating their time to you. In order to host this event\, we will ask every participant to pay $30 upfront to cover cost of delivery. Receipt of this payment\, once your application has been accepted\, will secure your seat  No payment is due at this time. Please watch for and respond promptly to an email sent by Fall Line Outdoors confirming acceptance or rejection. This email will provide instructions on how to confirm your acceptance and make payment \nFor the safety of all\, this event is only open for adults.
