Deer Processing Event

Join us on Saturday, December 5th for a full-day hands-on deer-processing class organized in three locations (Apex, Butner, Lillington NC) simultaneously, designed to teach you how to take your deer from field to freezer. Learn how to field dress, skin, and quarter then butcher meat into cuts your family would use.
Plan to bring your own boning knife, skinning knife, cut resistant and disposable gloves, hand wipes, cutting board, bagged lunch, snack and drinks for the day. Bring a chair, if desired. A limited number of these items will be available to borrow if you are not able to bring them.
Wear closed-toed waterproof shoes or boots. Dress for the weather. This event will be held rain or shine. Know that deer processing can get messy.
We will provide legally harvested deer donated by hunters for student processing, tables, lined waste cans, instructional materials, packaging and grinding supplies. We will also properly dispose of deer carcasses.
