Deer Processing Event – December 6th

December 6, 2025 @ 10:00 am4:30 pm

The hunt doesn’t end in the field—it continues in the quiet, intentional work of processing your harvest. Learning to break down a deer yourself is an act of respect, gratitude, and self-sufficiency. By mastering this skill, you ensure nothing goes to waste. You gain control over the quality, cleanliness, and care of your meat. You transform a moment of success into weeks of nourishment. And you carry forward a tradition that honors both the hunter and the hunted.

This workshop, geared to adults new to hunting, will offer hands-on training allowing students an opportunity to field dress, skin, quarter, debone and package a deer for the freezer.

Two locations (choose one or let us know that you would be willing to travel to either):

  • Apex
  • Lillington

Participants must plan to bring their own knives, cutting board, bottled water, and snacks.  Bringing a cut-resistant glove is recommended.  Deer meat, disposable gloves, processing stations and packaging materials will be provided.

Space is limited.  Apply as soon as you know that you are available to attend.  Adults who are new to hunting and lack access to local friends or family to teach them how to hunt will receive priority placement.
The exact address gets shared with participants before the event.

The application is now closed – all places are filled.
