Application window is open for Deer Hunting 2026
November 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025
For the seventh year in a row, the New Hill Hunter Education and Mentoring Program is enrolling for 2026.
What you learn during the Program:
- Anything Deer – North Carolina Deer habitat, behavior, how to find, hunt, process. Enjoy Deer to Venison, Field to the Freezer!
- Scouting – public and private land hunting, how to find deer, and how to be successful in any place.
- Rules and regulations – through our strong connection with the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, game wardens, and conservation professionals, you can learn all about deer!
- Conservation, herd and habitat management — hunters do the most for wildlife. Join our conservation efforts!
- Safe and Ethical Hunting – it is important what you do, but more important, how you do it. Make it a lifetime experience, safely and ethically.
- All ways of hunting:
- Archery with a climber
- Muzzle loader from a blind
- Rifle from a tree stand
- All activities are outdoors-focused. Following an initial classroom day, all other days are field days on private land, including at least 5 days in the woods, and a mentored hunt.
- Plenty of volunteering and conservation opportunities during our optional days, from tree stand setup to shooting lane management.
- Our mentors are also HunterEd instructors. If your hunting license is not ready, we can work with you.
The application window is open until all seats are filled.
